Don’t be afraid of MLM, Part 5: Philosophy and the future
Life is tough. The question is, what are you going to do about it? Moaning and groaning won’t secure your future. Neither will blaming Wall Street, the big bankers, corporate America, or the government. If you want a solid future, you need to create it. You can take charge of your future only when you take control of your income source. You need your own business.
Take responsibility for your finances—or get used to taking orders for the rest of your life. You’re either a master of money or a slave to it. Your choice.

In 1994 I started researching the network marketing business in earnest. I went to every presentation I heard about and listened closely to everything I heard. Eventually I began meeting some of these companies’ leaders, and I was stunned to find that they were some of the most intelligent, kind, ethical, moral, spiritual, and professional people I had met in all my years of business.
The qualities that Kiyosaki found in MLM professionals were honed from time spent doing what they love most – helping people. Helping others is the core principal in MLM. You are not just in it for yourself. If you are, you won’t last.

The key is, as Kiyosaki points out, not just building financial wealth, but wealth in all areas of your life, both personal and professional. MLM not only allows you to do this, but to be truly successful, MLM requires you to do this.
Personal development is an inherent part of MLM (see my previous post), as well as any business where you shoulder the responsibility for its success. To become a student of personal development is to become a student of human nature. And don’t we all need to know more about that??
When I first started in SendOutCards almost two years ago, I looked at the business as any other – I was going to sell a product to make money. That’s the black and white of it, but life isn’t black and white. Neither is running a business that’s about people. How shortsighted I was.
As I started to develop as an entrepreneur – which I had never been – I started to realize that I liked helping people through my SendOutCards business, whether it be in their professional or personal life. In the last decade, the internet has changed our lives in countless ways, causing many brick and mortar businesses to close their doors while creating vast opportunities for many others. We now have global access to goods and services with a few mouse clicks. The internet is a more convenient way to shop, communicate and get information.
Although MLM existed long before the internet, it is having a greater impact on many more people now that the internet has eliminated the boundaries to communication. I can introduce SendOutCards to someone in Canada or even Australia just as easily as I can to my next door neighbor. With low overhead, evolving products and services and no middleman, MLM is the new face of business for many people.
The phenomenal concept known as MLM is not only a business, but a lifestyle. Why not style your life? Believe me, when you take control of your life, you will never give it back.
